Huntly – Dog friendly walks

Huntly – Lake Puketirini

Dog friendly walk -A significant feature of the park is Lake Puketirini, a newly formed lake that was once a coal pit. The lake has a high water quality and is perfect for swimming. This is a 3.5km loop and will take approximately 45 minutes. There are two carparks – the closest to Huntly is on Rotowaro Road and at Weavers Crossing Road off Rotowaro Road on the opposite side of the Lake.

Huntly – Lake Hakanoa

Dog friendly walk – Huntly is on the eastern side of town, known for its easy 3.6 km loop track, themed gardens, wetlands, and peaceful water views. It’s a popular spot for walking, running, picnics, and birdwatching, with flat paths.
